Sundays In My City - Zoo

This week, I met up with my dear friend S and we took the kids to the zoo. It was quite an adventure keeping up with all our energetic kiddos, but I did manage to snap a few hurried shots here and there.

The Reptile House was the first stop, with its enormous tortoises and...

a rhinoceros iguana.

We saw some beautiful birds, but most were camera-shy.
We did manage to get the two National Birds.

The Cocrico...

and the Scarlet Ibis.

There were macaws, and parrots and owls, and peacocks, among others. Look at this Toucan!

Before leaving we had to see the big crocodile.

But the favourite stop of the whole trip still had to be this...

Now head on over to Unknown Mami's for more Sundays in My City.

The first time we took my kid to the National Zoo, his favorite exhibit was the Coke Machine, so I can relate to the playground highlight.

Cool animals---I love me a toucan.

The zoo is one of those places I have to drag Godson home from. He LOVES it!

Your zoo is lovely and so is the playground :-)

Thanks for sharing your city.

Fun pictures! It's the same with my kids...it's ALWAYS the playground they want to see!

We didn't make it to the zoo this year. I guess we'll have to plan on getting there next year. The kids love it!

I love going to the zoo. It's like one of my fave places to take the kids b/c they can be their normally loud selves and no one can tell if it's them or the animals!

The zoo is a great place to take the kids. My husband and I go to the Cleveland zoo quite often and always buy the yearly membership passes.

Visiting from SITS.

What a cool idea, Sundays in My City! Love the zoo! We've been cold and blustery here lately, and my 3-year-old daughter actually told my hubs that she'd like to go to the zoo. In about six months...LOL. Besides, does our house count? :o)

Happy week, mama!

(P.S. I popped over from SITS...glad to find ya!)

Looks like you had a full day. I once knew someone who went to the zoo nearly every week. I'm organizing my summer (seeing as there's not much to do here in the winter) and must definitely put this on my list.

I took my daughter to the zoo when she was far too young to appreciate the animals. All she cared about were the human strangers closest to her.
